GSF Chesnutt, Ethan Edmond, Alex Edmond, Brian Edmond, Joseph Edmond, Julian Van Someren, Tom We started downstream around 1130 hours. The stretch from Long Hollow to Greer Spring was slow but not low. We were able to get through each riffle without getting out although there was some dragging. Past Greer Spring, the water was swifter with less dragging. We originally planned to start at MO 19 but decided we wanted to see the confluence of the spring and the river. Because of that, our late start, and the long shuttle, we had more river miles to cover on the first day than we had planned. We were also in competition with other groups for the sparse camp sites. We finally found one around 1800 hours that was small but suited us fairly well. USGS Gauge Data:Bardley (07071500) Discharge: 825 Height: 3.50 Source: Edmond |

The brush piles and log jams made for a moderately technical trip which would probably have been dangerous in high water. Railroad tracks are always nearby and trains are frequent.
