There was a small wildfire that spanned 100 yards or so along the eastern bank just south or Riverside bridge that was being battled by Nixa FD.It was a beautiful day of near perfect weather. The water was clear and gently moving along. The fishing wasn't off-the-charts good, but we all did catch a few here and there. There was one tree down about 1.5 miles up from Cox requiring us to do an easy portage around it.Despite this float being on the DoJ (and literally finding a Port-a-Potty outhouse IN the river!), it was a great day to be on an Ozarks stream. The water was clear and gently moving along. The fishing wasn't off-the-charts good, but we all did catch a few here and there. The first half of the trip consisted of some very large, slow pools punctuated with some good runs. The latter part of this trip was faster. While the number of fish we caught placed us in the "fair" region we all judged the fishing as "poor".
