Notes | Paddled upriver from the EE (Hulston Mill) Bridge to the three islands and back to try to find some white bass for the last time this spring. River was about 730 CFS and the lake was at 870 feet (+3 of normal) so many of the shoals that we fished two weeks prior were gone since the lake had risen five feet in the past week. Nevertheless, we picked up a few decent-sized males and I caught one large "sal" that was 15.5 inches up at the islands. I probably caught over 40 fish in total, but a majority of them were small and not worth the fillet knife. With the lake high, motor boats could get up further into the river, so we had to have our heads on a swivel to get out of the way. |
