| Condition | Good - Conditions are ideal for a canoe or kayak. Boats typically will drag on fewer than one-quarter of riffles, if at all, and portages are unnecessary or rare. Normal float lengths can be attempted without a problem. |
Notes | Paddled upstream and downstream from the EE Bridge (Hulston Mill) access to try and find some white bass. We caught a plethora of average-sized males up in the river in small pockets adjacent to the main current on swimmin' minnows. Back towards the lake, we caught a few more white bass, but overall lacked any quality fish the whole day when it came to size. Lake level was about 865ft (2ft low), so that could be hampering the big sals from getting up into the moving water in places. Weather was clear skies, 75 degrees, and light wind (relative for fishing Stockton). Water temperature was about 59 degrees in the afternoon. Hopefully, some good spring rains come in the next week or so to get one last push of fish into the river to target. |
