| Condition | Low - River is low but can still be floated. Some riffles are okay but most come with significant dragging and might need a portage. Float lengths should be reduced to accommodate low flow, dragging, and portages. |
Notes | This trip was a celebration of the legal victory that kept the Canyon Road access at Linden on the Finley River open to the public. The water was on the "good" end of "low" (or the "low" end of "good"). Several of the riffles were draggy, some portages were required, and the current was very slow. Tom and I discussed this and rated it as a "low" for these purposes. Since we started around 1430 hours (and off around 1900 hours), there was no organized lunch. Everyone shared some food, however, The weather didn't turn out as hot as predicted and the water itself was cool and refreshing. |
