Start | Lost Hollow (Below / downstream) |
End | Allen Branch (Below / downstream) |
Distance | 12.3 miles |
Crew | Bartlett, Stephanie Edmond, Brian Van Someren, Tom |
Condition | Good - Conditions are ideal for a canoe or kayak. Boats typically will drag on fewer than one-quarter of riffles, if at all, and portages are unnecessary or rare. Normal float lengths can be attempted without a problem. |
Notes | This day started out with an early morning thunderstorm that finished raining around 0900 hours. We got a late and wet start but managed to push off the gravel bar by 1100 hours. The water flow was very good through this stretch at this level although there were still a few places where we dragged. We ran into Ron White's group at Chalk Bluff today and got further confirmation of a positive identification. We commented on their massive amount of gear and Ron stated that the circus had come to town. He didn't have a drink and cigar but he was headed to a cooler to get one. |
