| Condition | High - The river is high and potentially dangerous, especially for the young and / or inexperienced. Normal stream obstacles are sometimes difficult to navigate. Extended distances can be attempted, but canoe travel may not be advisable. |
Notes | Paddled upstream 3/4 of a mile against a pretty strong current to the long deep pool that's basically the same distance below Riverdale dam. Fished for two hours, finally catching eight smallmouth and goggle eye of various sizes around dusk. Each time I've fished this large pool there have been large gar routinely jumping out of the water and splashing about. Sometimes it gets annoying it's so frequent. Note: Getting kayaks and equipment in and out of this spot isn't very fun at all. The roar of traffic continually blowing by is very nerve-wracking and quite unsettling. |
