ConditionGood - Conditions are ideal for a canoe or kayak. Boats typically will drag on fewer than one-quarter of riffles, if at all, and portages are unnecessary or rare. Normal float lengths can be attempted without a problem.
Notes icon NotesKorey and I got a late start on this trip (1400 hours), but still easily finished just after 1700 hours. The water level was okay with plenty of current, but we still found areas where our boats scraped over some shallow gravel bar-ish spots. The river has managed to self-clear nearly all previous non-navigable obstructions through this section. Only one snarl (just below Patterson Spring) presents some challenge getting through, yet can be avoided with an easy portage around it. Didn't see one fish in the stream the entire trip.
