| Condition | Good - Conditions are ideal for a canoe or kayak. Boats typically will drag on fewer than one-quarter of riffles, if at all, and portages are unnecessary or rare. Normal float lengths can be attempted without a problem. |
Notes | Put in late in the afternoon around 15:30 and took out right before dark, 20:30. Found a spot to park the car well off the road that wasn't marked Private Property / No Trespassing and paddled upstream 1.28 miles. This section of the river isn't as favorable to paddle upstream as it has WAAAAY too many extended gravely bars the kayak has to be pulled through (so it's more like a hike with your boat). The fish weren't biting at all until right before dusk when I caught three very nice size smallies and a goggle eye. |
