ConditionGood - Conditions are ideal for a canoe or kayak. Boats typically will drag on fewer than one-quarter of riffles, if at all, and portages are unnecessary or rare. Normal float lengths can be attempted without a problem.
Notes icon NotesThis section of the James was relatively fast-moving given the very low rainfall we've had. It was also fairly crowded with rental boats and others. Swimming and fishing were both good and the water was comfortable. Chris and I cut up a tree obstruction on one particularly tricky run.
FishingGood - 7 - 15 fish caught
