ConditionGood - Conditions are ideal for a canoe or kayak. Boats typically will drag on fewer than one-quarter of riffles, if at all, and portages are unnecessary or rare. Normal float lengths can be attempted without a problem.
Notes icon NotesPut in just before 1000, took out at Cox Access in Galena right at 1730. The James was flowing very nicely. Fishing utterly sucked, mostly due to WAAAAAY too many people taking advantage of the gorgeous day outside. From just below Kerr Access all the way to Galena, we had to put up with the noise and shenanigans of 130 college students drifting down the river in a mass rafting flotilla.
FishingPoor - 0 - 2 fish caught
