NotesThis creek doesn't follow the maps of the area. You start northwest of the town of Burrell Boom at a place called No-Name Lagoon and the maps show it flowing south into the Belize River. But the current actually flows east and then north towards some unknown destination.

We put in at the access north of Burrell Boom and paddled along No-Name Lagoon listening for turtles. We detected two Hicatee signals along this stretch. We paddled to the east and then north to a small lagoon. We observed (sight and sound) several Brown Basilisk lizards escaping and certainly witnessed the aftersplash of several Morelet's Crocodiles. At some point, Day picked up a Mexican Tree Frog in his boot and it made its way up his pant leg until he discovered it there. The northern part of this lagoon was typified by low-growing branches and vines that we needed to bushwhack through while in the canoe. Before reaching the second lagoon, we needed to portage the canoe through a small, shallow run.We put in at the access north of Burrell Boom and paddled along No-Name Lagoon listening for turtles.
